The Avon Cycleway Challenge - C4U – Cycle for Uganda

C4U – Cycle for Uganda – Saturday 10th June

Revving up for the 88 mile cycle ride around the Avon Cycle Way is our very own Jon Barton! As a personal challenge and to support a very well worth charity Jon is putting in the training to be up to the demands of this ride in aid of Uganda Namisindwa Day Nursery and Water Projects. Jon’s son Luke is also taking part so that will add to the competition.

Extra info:

Completing the whole 88 miles loop in one day is a challenging ride. Mostly comprised of country lanes and some cycle paths, the route takes you through North Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire, guiding you through some beautiful little villages along the way.

It’s fully signposted as National Cycle Route 410 (it used to be route 10), and while a long ride, it’s relatively flat compared to some of the local terrain. The maximum gradient is approximately 11% and just over 4,000ft of climbing. The route takes in the Chew Valley, Yate and Thornbury, Avonmouth Bridge and Clevedon.

Donations can be made via https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/jonbarton1 to help reach the £3,000 target set.
