Being a PCA Member

As a leading invasive weed removal specialist, PBA Solutions is proud to be a founding member of the Invasive Weed Group of the Property Care Association (PCA). This group was created to meet the requirements of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML).

The PCA has been established for over 85 years. As a UK trade association, the PCA represents specialists who can be trusted to resolve the problems that affect your property. PCA professionals include independent surveyors, consultants, contractors and manufacturers.

The PCA has developed a Japanese knotweed Code of Practice at the request of the RICS and CML. It also runs industry-recognised training programmes for professional members. The PCA has its own technical panel comprised of renowned academics and professionals with many years of experience in contracting and consulting, who collaborate to produce best practice guidelines for members. This ensures that the PCA is always at the leading edge of industry standards.

Membership is rigorous and applicants must have a minimum two years profitable trading experience. Members must produce accurate and up to date accounts and undergo bi-annual, on-premises audits and on-site scrutiny by the PCA to ensure technical competence. All these measures are to warrant the businesses represented by the PCA as honest, effective and dependable.

The PCA is the only truly independent trade body that is able to bring together specialists, academics and government for the benefit of property owners and their specific needs.

About the TrustMark Logo

TrustMark is a government-backed scheme of which the PCA is a member. It gives consumers the security of finding a credible contractor or consultant and also gives them protection when work is being done in and around their property. As a member of the PCA, PBA Solutions holds the TrustMark, which means we are a trusted and compliant specialist in the invasive weed industry.

As a PCA trade association member, PBA Solutions is also able to offer Insurance Backed Guarantees (IBGs), which provides customers with the peace of mind that the work we carry out is of the best standard.
